Payments Kept on Platform
In accordance with our TOS, all payments must be made through the Storyhunter platform. We need payments kept on the platform so that we are able to guarantee and protect your payment.
Protecting Payment
Storyhunter aims to protect you and ensures you get paid for your work. With subscription clients, you will be paid within the time period of your clients billing net terms with us -- this is most often 30 days. We invoice your client separately and handle any issues around collecting payments. If you work with a marketplace client, we protect you up to $1000 subject to our terms and conditions. In the event you take a project worth more than $1000 with a marketplace client, we encourage you to discuss milestone payments to limit your risk and establish a fair payment schedule. This can easily be done through Storyhunter using our advance payments feature.
Tracking Payment
You can track the due date of a project payment by visiting the project page, scrolling down, and clicking on the “payments” tab. You can also use the Reports tab to monitor upcoming payments. To set up payment, please follow these instructions.
What Does This Mean for Freelancers?
Freelancers benefit from Storyhunter by getting access to clients, unique work opportunities, and fast, guaranteed payments. A one-time electronic payment setup allows freelancers to get paid on time for all projects, regardless of their location or the location of clients, in the method of your choice. In most countries, we offer ACH, Wire, Paypal, and Venmo. We also offer freelancers the ability to receive advances of funds and also expedite payments for a fee to receive payment within 3 days of completing a project.
For background, large companies have increasingly implemented corporate policies of paying vendors within 45 days, 60 days, 90 days, and even in some cases, 120 days. We believe this is too long to wait for a freelancer, so we negotiate preferential payment terms with them and even if we don’t achieve 30 day payment terms with them, we still guarantee that for the freelancers. For clients, it’s much easier to make a one-time exception for a company like Storyhunter than to try to process a large amount of small invoices from freelancers.
What Does This Mean for Clients?
As a client, you benefit from the platform in that you no longer have to search for the right freelancer for your project. You can hire as many freelancers as you want without extra approvals or added invoices. We handle all the e-signatures for your standard contracts, pay freelancers in over 192 countries, track each invoice by budget, and take care of the tax forms at the end of the year.
If you are an enterprise client and would like to discuss volume discounts, please contact support@storyhunter.com.
