Welcome to Your New Dashboard
Being a creator can be tough - there can be so much to manage, and not a lot of tools to help you keep everything in check. We’ve been working on a new way to display and organize your entire presence on Storyhunter, from Applications to Projects. With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to your new Dashboard:
You’ll be greeted by your Dashboard the moment you log into Storyhunter. There’s a lot to take in, so let’s break it down a bit.
Your Postings Card displays all information related to your current postings, and will list out your total available opportunities. This is the combined number of postings that are available for you to apply. Postings that are Recommended to you are based on and match with your services offered, desired rates, and location. We also list other opportunities that you’re welcome to check out in Explore, but keep in mind that these may not meet your desired criteria in one or more ways. These are additional postings available on the platform, so feel free to apply as you see fit - besides, we want to make sure there are as many opportunities available to you as possible!
If you are directly invited to a posting you will be notified on this card under the Invited section so you don’t accidentally miss out on a message from a client. Additionally, any posting that you may have Saved for later will be tallied up here so you don’t forget about any of them. Selecting this card will take you to your Postings page which will give you a detailed overview on all postings available to you.
Keeping track of applications can be tricky, especially when there are so many opportunities out there. It can be challenging to remember where you are in the process sometimes, which is where the Applications Card comes in. This card tracks the status of all live applications, meaning any application on a posting that has not yet been converted into a project.
Once you send in your application to a posting it will show up as a submitted application. They’ll remain here until they’re either rejected or if an offer has been made. If you want to accept an offer you can either click the related action item (which we’ll talk about later) or you can select the Applications Card, where you can view your pending application and accept the offer. Your accepted offers will then become Projects, but you can still view the amount of times you’ve been hired from an application at the bottom of this card.
Applications exist in Contract if the client you’re working with has sent a contract for you to sign. Once you’ve both locked in a deal your application will then move to Projects, similar to you accepting an offer.
We know that planning for a shoot can be tricky, especially when you have multiple projects going on at once. The Projects Card helps you keep track of every project that you’re currently working on, taking some of the stress off organizing so you can focus on delivering the best work possible. Selecting this card will take you to your Projects page for more project details.
Projects are in the Planning phase when you are still trying to work out a deal with a client - maybe they sent you an offer you’re not too cool with, so you’re currently in a back and forth trying to find a fair price for the project. It’s important to know that the Planning phase on the Projects Card only refers to Projects that have been directly sent to you, and not projects that you applied for.
Once you’ve reached a deal you’re both happy with, a Project will be marked as Active. Active projects are exactly as they sound - projects that are currently being worked on. Imagine these as “live” projects that you’re providing your specific services for.
When you’ve wrapped and feel comfortable with your deliverables you can send them over to the client, in which the project will enter the Final Steps phase. If you feel like you’ve hit your mark, then you would mark the project as complete after sending over everything the client has asked for. It’s then on them to approve the work you’ve submitted, leaving the project in the final steps until the client marks it complete as well.
Another situation in which you’d see a project in final steps is if the client thinks you’ve already done an awesome job and wishes to close out the project. They would mark the work you’ve already submitted as complete, leaving you to agree to their request. In either case, once both parties mark the project as complete it will move into your list of completed projects, which lets you view your completed projects by year or by all time.
Here at Storyhunter, we have the opportunity to work with top brands from around the world, and an even greater opportunity to introduce them to great talent like you. In some instances you may find yourself working for multiple companies that may invite you to their network, making you one of their in-network creators. One of the biggest benefits of being an in-network creator is that you will not pay creator fees when you work with an in-network company, something that is highlighted at the top of your My Network Card.
This card allows you to view your personal relationship with a specific company, and you can view more relationships via the drop down menu at the top of the card. Not only are you able to view your active and completed projects with a specific company, but you can also view the total amount of earnings you’ve made working with them.
We encourage building relationships with clients on our platform, and want you to create meaningful connections with those you work with on Storyhunter. The My Network Card helps you keep track of those relationships so you can remember the clients you want to work with for years to come.
The Learn Card acts as your Help Center Hub. This card will always display the newest help center article that is curtailed to creators to make sure you’re always in the know with how our platform operates. If you ever get stuck or are confused with how our platform works, here is a great place to start, but you can always reach out to our support team as well.
There are times when you might be anxious about when your next payout is - your new Reports Card takes care of any financial information you may be wondering about. You can always select the card for a more granular breakdown of your finances, but this card shows you information related to your total earnings as well as scheduled payouts.
Earnings can either be viewed by how much you’ve earned your entire time on our platform or by our current calendar year. This way you can keep track of how much you bring in in case you need to budget for other projects. We want to be as candid as possible when it comes to when exactly you get paid, so we’re displaying your pending payouts here. This shows the total number of payouts you can expect once they’ve been cleared, as well as the total amount. Your next payout date shows you when exactly you can expect payments that have already been cleared to make it to you, as well as the exact amount you should receive as indicated by next payout amount.
As you know, there can be a ton of things that can suddenly tie you up when it comes to freelancing, and it can be challenging knowing what to do next. Our Action Items list functions as a sort of “to do list” of available things that require your attention. We’ve sorted through and organized these items for you so you don’t have to reach back into your memory to recall whether or not you marked that Videography Project as “complete.” All of these items are clickable, and will take you directly to the page where the specific action can be taken.
With this Dashboard, you’re able to keep track of all these production variables so you can focus on creating. We get it - navigating the wide world of freelancing can be tough at times - so we hope that this Dashboard provides you with a way to track down new opportunities, deliver great work, and everything else in between.
